How to look up one application by its reference

Go straight to a planning application when you already know its council reference.

Already know which application you're after? Look it up by its planning reference, the one on the council's letter or website.

Look it up

  1. Click Planning data in the sidebar.

  2. If the page opens on What work are you after? with a box to write in, click I'll pick them myself to see the filters.

  3. In the filters, under One application, click Planning reference.

  4. Type the reference as the council writes it, for example 26/01491/FUL.

  5. At the top of the results, click Table, then click the application to open it.

The application also shows on the map, and the count says how many match.

Why the reference finds nothing

The reference is searched inside your search area and dates, along with any other filters you've set. If nothing turns up:

  1. Set Date to Any time.

  2. Make sure your search area takes in the address. Under Where, try Map area and zoom out.

  3. Click Clear all to take off other filters, then type the reference again. Clear all keeps your search area.

Take it off again

Clear the Planning reference card, or hover over Filters at the top of the panel and click the cross beside Planning reference.
