Notes sit on the lead, so everyone on your team sees the same story: who called, what was said, when someone measured up. Mention a teammate to bring them in, and they get a notification that takes them straight to the lead.
Read a lead's notes
Click Saved leads in the sidebar and open a folder, or All leads.
Click a lead to open it.
Find the Notes section.
Notes are in conversations, oldest first, with replies under each one.
Reply to a note
Under the note, click Reply.
Type your reply in Write a reply….
Click Reply.
Replying keeps the conversation together, under the note it answers.
Start a new note and mention a teammate
Type in the box at the bottom of Notes, which says "Add a note… type @ to mention a team member".
To bring someone in, type @ and pick a teammate from the list.
Click Post.
Edit or delete your note
Hover over your note and click ….
Click Edit to change it, then Save. Or click Delete.
An edited note says (edited). A deleted note with replies leaves "This note was deleted." so the replies still make sense. You can only edit or delete your own notes.
Who gets told
Everyone you @mention in a note.
When someone replies, everyone who has written in that conversation.
Each person is told once a note, by notification in Buildscout and by email, and never about their own notes. If you edit a note to mention someone new, they're told too. The notification opens the lead.
Why can't I add notes?
Notes belong to a lead. A planning application nobody has saved says "Save it to a folder to add notes for your team." Save it to a folder first, and the notes open.
Why can't I mention someone?
You can only mention people in your team. Notes are for your team, so nobody outside it can read them or be told about them.
Why didn't my teammate get a notification?
Nobody is told about their own notes. Each person can also turn off Lead notes in Settings → Notifications.
Why does a link say Lead not found?
"This lead doesn't exist, or it isn't in this team." means the link is for a lead your team doesn't have. Click the back arrow to go back to your leads.
