How to publish or unpublish your page

Put your Portfolio page live for anyone with the link, share its address, or take it down for a while.

Your Portfolio page is either Live, where anyone with the link can see it, or Draft, where only your team can. You can switch between them with one click.

Publish your page

  1. Click Portfolio in the sidebar.

  2. At the top, click Publish.

  3. Before you publish lists what's left to do: add a few jobs with their photos, say who you are and what you do in the About section, and make sure enquiries go to the right email. Asking a client for a review is optional. Once it's all done, it says Ready to publish.

  4. Click Publish now.

Your page is live, and Buildscout says Your portfolio is live. The label at the top says Live.

Publish checks your site on a phone first. If some parts don't work well on phones, it says so: click Fix with AI to have the AI fix them, or Publish anyway.

Share your page

  • Click the address at the top (the copy button, on a smaller screen) to copy it, ready for your van, your quotes and your socials.

  • Click View (the open button, on a smaller screen) to open your page as homeowners see it. While it's a draft, the same button says Preview.

Take it down

  1. At the top, click Unpublish.

Your page goes back to Draft. Nothing's lost, and your team can still preview it. When you're ready, click Publish and it's live again, at the same address.

Why can't people see my page?

It's a draft. Nobody but your team can see it until you click Publish.

Do my changes go live straight away?

Changes to your site's pages, sections and look save to your draft, so you can get them right first. Click Publish changes at the top to put them live; it's greyed out while everything's live already. Like the first Publish, it checks your site on a phone first. Your business details in the editor's Site tab are different: your services, areas, phone, email, where enquiries go and what the buttons say. Once your site is live, they're on it as soon as they've saved themselves, a moment after you stop typing.

Why did my page's address stop working?

If someone changed Your site's address and clicked Change address, in the editor's Site tab under Address & search, the old address stops working. Share the new one shown at the top.
