How to save and reuse searches

Keep a search's filters to run again whenever you like, and see what's new each time.

Found a search that works? Save it, and run it again whenever you like. A saved search keeps the filters and where it looks, not the leads, so each time you run it you see what's new.

Saved searches are your whole team's. They're in Planning data and when you target a campaign.

Save a search

  1. Click Planning data in the sidebar and set up your search.

  2. At the top of the page, beside Planning data, click Save search.

  3. Give it a name you'll know, like "Loft conversions near Newark".

  4. Click Save.

The search's name now shows at the top of the page.

Run a saved search

  1. At the top of the page, click Saved searches, or the name of the search that's open.

  2. Pick the search. You can type to find it.

A search with a period such as Last 30 days always means the 30 days up to today, not up to the day you saved it.

Change a saved search

Change any filter and Buildscout marks the search Edited. Then:

  • Click Save changes to keep the changes in the saved search.

  • Or open the menu and click Discard changes to put it back as it was saved.

  • Or click Save as a new search… to keep the changes as another saved search.

To go back to an unsaved search, open the menu and click Stop using with the search's name.

Rename or delete a saved search

Open the Saved searches menu:

  • Click the pencil beside a search to rename it.

  • Click the bin beside a search to delete it, then click Delete to confirm. This can't be undone.

Deleting a saved search also turns off its auto export, if it has one.

Why Save search is greyed out

There's nothing to search yet: you've picked Postcode without choosing a place, or Draw without drawing a shape. Once the search has an area, you can save it.

Why moving the map doesn't mark it Edited

With Map area, a saved search looks at whatever the map shows, so moving or zooming the map is looking around, not a change to the search. Changing a filter, a postcode, a distance or a drawn shape does count.

Why a saved search has gone

Someone on your team deleted it. Saved searches are shared, so a search deleted by anyone goes for everyone. If you open a link to it, Buildscout says "That saved search has been deleted".
