When a builder sends you a project's link, or invites you to a project by email or WhatsApp, the link opens a page that says which job it is and which builder it's for. Joining puts you straight onto the job.
Join with the link
Open the link. The page says Join and the project's name, with the builder and the site's address.
Fill in Your name, Email address and Your trade. Phone number is optional.
Tick I agree to the terms.
Click Join the project.
If the builder invited you themselves, the form starts with the details they gave.
The first time: choose a password
If your email is new to Buildscout, you're asked to choose a password.
Type it under Password, and again under Confirm password.
Click Create your login and join.
From then on you sign in with your email and this password. Click Change your details to go back to the form.
You're taken straight onto the job: your tasks, the chat, the photos and drawings the builder shares with you, and your time on site.
If you already have a Buildscout account
Click Sign in under the form, sign in, and you come back to the same page. Click Join the project to join as yourself.
If you fill in the form with an email that already has an account, you're put on the project and asked to sign in with that account. We email you the link as well.
Why does the link say it doesn't work any more?
This link doesn't work any more means the builder has switched the link off or made a new one. Ask them for an up-to-date link, or to add you to the project themselves.
Why does it say the invite has already been used?
An invite sent to you personally can only be accepted once.
This invite has already been used: if it's yours, click Sign in and you'll go straight to the project.
This invite is someone else's: you're signed in as someone other than the person who accepted it. If it was meant for you, ask the builder to add you to the project.
Why does it say I'm already on this project?
You're already on this project means you're a member of the builder's own team, so the project is already in your workspace. Click Open the project. Someone on the team can't also be one of its subcontractors.
