Once you're on a builder's job, the Subcontractor view shows every job you're on, for every builder you work with. Open one to work through the tasks the builder has given you.
Open a job
Go to the Subcontractor view. It lists The projects builders have added you to, each with the builder's name, the address and how many open tasks are for you.
Search by project or builder if the list is long.
Click the job to open it.
The job opens on Your tasks. The tabs along the top are Your tasks, Chat, Photos, Documents, Your walkthroughs and Your time.
Move a task along
Each task has a status beside it. Change it to To do, In progress or Done as you go.
When you mark a task Done, you're asked Add a photo as evidence? Click Add photo to take or pick one, and it's attached to the task. Click Not now to skip it.
Open a task
Click a task's name to open it. There you can:
See and attach its photos and documents under Files.
Read its Checklist. The builder keeps the checklist.
Talk about the task in its Comments.
If there are no tasks yet, the page says Waiting for tasks. When the builder gives you one, it shows here and you're told.
Talk in the chat
Click Chat. It's the whole job's conversation, with the builder's team and the other trades on it. Type @ to mention someone.
Photos and documents
Click Photos or Documents to see what the builder has shared with you, such as drawings, plus anything you've added yourself. Click Add photos or Add documents to add your own.
Your time on site
Click Your time to see every visit you've clocked on site with the Buildscout app, a week at a time, or click Summary for your hours added up. You can't change your time here: ask the builder if something's wrong.
Tell the builder when you'll be on site
Click When you're on site at the top of the job. See How to confirm bookings as a subcontractor.
Why can't I change anything on this job?
When the builder marks a job complete, the job says ⦠has marked this project complete, so nothing on it can change unless they reopen it. You can still read everything on it.
Why can't I see all of the job's photos and documents?
You only see the files the builder has shared with you, and the ones you've added.
