If a builder has added you to one of their jobs on Buildscout, you work on it in the Subcontractor view. It shows the jobs builders have put you on, labelled with each builder's name. You don't need a team of your own on Buildscout.
What you can do on a builder's job
See your bookings and say whether you'll be there. See How to confirm bookings as a subcontractor.
Work through the tasks the builder gives you. See How to work on tasks as a subcontractor.
Talk to the builder and the other trades in the job's Chat.
See the photos and documents the builder shares with you, and add your own.
Clock in and out on site with the Buildscout app, and see your time under Your time.
Open a photo or document
On the job, click Photos or Documents.
Click a photo or a document to open it.
You see it large, with its details, a Download button and its Comments, where you can talk about it with the builder. Renaming, filing and sharing files is up to the builder. Click All photos or All documents to go back.
Your walkthroughs
A walkthrough is a video of the site you record with the Buildscout app, saying what needs doing as you go. Click Your walkthroughs on a job to see the ones you've recorded there, and click one to watch it. You only see your own. Click All your walkthroughs to go back.
Get your jobs in your own calendar
A strip at the top of the Subcontractor view offers to connect your calendar, once a builder has added you to a job. Click Connect calendar and pick yours. Your bookings from every builder then show in your calendar, and builders won't book you when you're busy. See How to connect your calendar.
Click the cross to close the strip. It stays away on that browser for a month.
On a phone
On a phone, the Subcontractor view offers the Buildscout app first, since that's how you clock in on site.
Why has a job disappeared?
If you open a job and see This project isn't available. You may have been removed from it., the builder has taken you off it. Ask them if you think that's a mistake.
Why can't I change anything on a job?
The builder has marked it complete. Everything on it can still be read, but nothing can change unless they reopen it.
Why don't I see every file on the job?
You only see the files the builder has shared with you, and the ones you've added yourself.
Can I run my own jobs too?
If you don't have a team on Buildscout, the Subcontractor view offers Get full Buildscout, to set up your own and run your own projects and team.
