Letters we post for you go out once a day, at 7pm your time, every day of the week. If they're not going, it's usually one of the reasons below. Sending today, in the sidebar, is the best place to start: it shows what's going today, what's held back, and why.
Your letter credit has run out
Each letter is paid for from your letter credit as it's sent. When your credit won't cover today's letters, Sending today shows Not enough credits and how much you're short. Letters that couldn't be paid for show a warning sign; hover over it to see the reason. Click Top up to buy credit, and they go at a later sending time. To stop this happening, turn on Top up automatically. See "How to top up letter credit".
Your automatic top-up failed
If we couldn't charge your card for an automatic top-up, you'll get a notification: Your letter credit top-up has failed, saying letter sending is paused until your payment details are updated. Billing members see Credit top-up failed — pick another card. Click it, pick another card, and buy credit. Until there's credit, letters don't go out.
Your daily budget is used up
Letters over your daily budget are Held back and wait for a later sending day. Out of budget in Sending today shows them. Raise your budget in Budget management, turn on roll-over, or Force send a letter to send it today anyway. If a campaign has its own share of the budget, its letters are held once that share is used, even if the team budget isn't. See "How to set your daily budget".
The campaign is paused or archived
Pausing a campaign with Also pause all existing enrolments for this campaign ticked holds its letters. Archiving one pauses all of them. Resume it, with Also resume all paused letter workflows for this campaign ticked, and they carry on.
A campaign can also be paused for you when your plan ends, or changes to one with fewer campaigns or fewer leads a year and you didn't choose to keep it.
The letters were never approved
If a campaign checks each lead first, nothing goes until you click Send in Review leads. Leads left there longer than Cancel unreviewed leads after expire.
The letters waited too long
Letters still unsent after the campaign's Cancel unsent letters after time, usually because the budget or credit ran out day after day, are cancelled. Open the lead to send them after all.
You post letters yourself
If your team downloads and posts its own letters, nothing is posted by us. Letters wait under Download today until you download them. See "How to download and post letters yourself".
Your plan has changed
If your subscription ends or isn't paid, letters stop going and stay scheduled. They go once your plan is active again.
Letters to agents, companies and company owners need the Enterprise plan (Outreach in Australia). On other plans they're held until you upgrade.
A letter is waiting for something
Letters tied to the council's decision only go when it's made, and a follow-up waits for the letter before it. They aren't due yet, so they don't show in Sending today. The lead shows when each is expected.
