Your Business Profile is what your business does, where and when, typed once. Your receptionist answers callers from it, and your Portfolio shows it. You can fill most of it in from your website in a minute.
Anyone on your team can fill it in.
Click your initial at the top right and choose Settings.
Under your team's name, click Business profile.
At the top it says how many sections are filled in, and which of the essentials your receptionist still needs. Click a section to open it, or Open all.
Under Fill from your website, type your website's address.
Click Fill in my details. It takes up to a minute.
Check every section. The tinted fields came from your website.
Click Save business profile.
It only fills in what your website says. Click Undo to throw away what it found and start again.
If your website shows prices, you'll see Prices on your website. Tick Tell callers these prices if you're happy for the receptionist to quote them. Left off, it won't.
The essentials, marked To do until they're filled in:
About your business: your Business name, About the business and Years trading (optional).
Services: what you do, each with a line about it and a price guide only where you're happy for callers to hear one.
Where you work: Around my base or Nationwide. For a local business, add Areas you cover, Your base and the Furthest drive from your base. The receptionist only books visits within that drive, or in the areas you list.
Opening hours: the days and times you're open. Out of these hours, the receptionist handles a call the same way as in them, unless you change your call flow to do something else, like only taking messages. See How to change your call flow.
The rest are Optional, but help it answer more:
Quotes and pricing: How quotes work, Pricing (optional) and Payment terms (optional).
Questions customers ask: questions and your answers. The receptionist answers these just as you write them.
Accreditations and insurance.
Contact and links: Phone, Email, Website and Social and review pages.
Click Save business profile at the bottom. With Update my Portfolio to match ticked, your Portfolio's about, services, areas, phone and email change too, where they still matched your old profile. Untick it to leave your Portfolio as it is.
Your receptionist uses the new details from the next call. There's nothing to publish.
Pick your base from the list as you type it, rather than just typing it. Until you do, the receptionist measures drives from somewhere else, so it may book visits you can't get to.
Something needs fixing, and it's marked in red. Check each open section.
No. Setup in Settings holds your business name, office postcode and site hours for the rest of Buildscout. See How to set up your business details. The Business Profile is what your customers and callers are told.
Your website's pages, documents and notes too. Click What your receptionist knows at the bottom of the page. See How to choose what your receptionist knows.
