The lead board shows your leads as cards in columns, one column for each stage a job goes through. Drag a card from one column to the next as the job moves on.
Open the board
Click Saved leads in the sidebar.
Pick All leads, a campaign or a folder.
At the right of the toolbar, click the Board view icon. The icon next to it switches back to the list.
Buildscout remembers which view you used last. Every list of leads uses the same stages, so a lead sits in the same column wherever you see it.
Move a lead to another stage
Drag the card into another column. New leads start in the first column.
A new team starts with these stages: New lead, Call received, Visited, Quoted, Won and Lost. When you move a campaign's lead into Call received, Buildscout asks you to log the reply.
When a lead is won
Drop a lead into Won and you're asked whether to create a project for it. Click Create project and the project starts with the application's address and proposal, plus its council documents if you want them. Click Not now to just move the lead.
When a lead is lost
Drop a lead into Lost and you're asked why. Pick the main reason, such as Price too high or Went with another builder, and add a note if you like. Click Save, or Skip to move the lead without a reason.
The card then shows the reason. If you skipped, it shows Say why it was lost, and you can click that to add one later. Over time, the reasons show you where work is slipping away.
Above the columns you can see how many leads you've won and lost, and your win rate.
Choose what a stage does
Hover over a column's name and click … to open its menu:
Notify when leads move in or Notify when leads move out: tick the teammates who should be told.
Leads here count as: Won, Lost or Neither, still in progress. Won and lost stages count towards your win rate.
Automations…: something that happens every time a lead moves into the stage.
Change column colour.
Add, rename, reorder or remove stages
Rename: click a column's name and type the new one.
Add: click Add stage after the last column.
Reorder: drag a column by its handle.
Remove: choose Delete stage from the column's menu. If there are leads in the stage, move them to another stage first.
You can also manage stages, automations and tags in Settings → Lead board. Anyone on your team can change them.
