Your clients want to know how their job is going. The client portal gives each job one web page you send your client, with the updates you post and only the photos and documents you choose. It's in your logo and colours, and your client doesn't need an app or a password to open it.
The client portal is part of Projects, so your team needs Projects on its plan to use it.
Find a job's client portal
Click Projects in the sidebar and open the job.
Click Client portal in the project's menu.
Nothing is shared until you set the portal up. Once it's set up, the portal has five tabs: Updates, Files, Clients, Reviews and Settings. The bar above them always shows your client's link, with Copy link and Send on WhatsApp.
What you can do with it
Set it up and share the link. One click makes the portal. See How to set up a client portal.
Add your client. On Clients, click Add client. They're emailed their own link, and you can see when they've looked.
Post updates. An update has four parts: Done this week, Coming up, Needs your decision and Anything unexpected. Draft it for me writes it from the job's photos and finished tasks for you to check. See How to send your client an update.
Send an update every week automatically. See How to send weekly updates automatically.
Choose which photos and documents your client sees, and find the ones they send you. See How to share files with your client.
Ask for a review. Under Reviews, pick when to ask. Reviews land on your Portfolio page. See How to ask for a review.
Change how it looks and who your client can contact. See How to change your portal settings.
What your client sees
Your client opens the link on their phone or computer. They see your latest update first, then Updates, Photos and Documents, and a way to call, WhatsApp or email you. They can tap Get email updates to hear about every update, and Send photos or documents to send you files. See How to see what your client sees.
Why can't I change anything on the portal?
When a project is complete, its portal stays open for your client to read, but nothing new can go on it. You'll see This project is complete. Reopen it to make changes. at the top of the project. Click Reopen to post updates or share files again. Reviews still work on a complete project, because that's when most clients leave one.
