Your Portfolio is a web page of your own that shows off your best work, what your clients say about you, and the places you cover. Homeowners can ask you for a quote from it, and every enquiry is emailed to you. Portfolio comes with every plan.
Set it up
The first time you click Portfolio in the sidebar, five short steps set it up: Business, About you, Your words, Best work and Contact. Nobody sees your page until you publish it.
Your business: your business name and where you're based are already filled in. Add the other towns you cover under Where you're based, and the areas you cover, and tap the work you do under The work you do. Click Next.
A few words about you: answer the questions the way you'd say them. A sentence or two each is plenty. Click Next, or Skip for now if you'd rather.
Here's your introduction: Buildscout writes your answers up into your page's introduction. Read it through and change anything you like. Click Write it again for another go from the same answers.
Your best work: pick the finished projects to show. Buildscout chooses the best photos from each and writes them up. You can also upload photos of work you did before Buildscout under Photos of past work. The tips beside them, under What makes a great photo, help your photos win work.
How people reach you: under Email enquiries to, put the address each enquiry should be emailed to. You can also add a phone number and email to show on your page.
Click Build my page.
To fill it in yourself instead, click Skip setup, I'll fill it in myself at the bottom.
Make it yours
Your site opens with the editor on the left and your site on the right, just as people will see it. Everything you change shows straight away, and saves as you go. Ask the AI designer in Chat for a change, add pages and sections in Pages, and pick your look, colour, services and areas in Site. Click a section on your site to change it, and Library to drag your photos and jobs onto it. See "How to edit your Portfolio site".
Put it live
Click Publish at the top, then Publish now, and your page is live. Copy its link for your van, your quotes and your socials. See "How to publish or unpublish your page".
What homeowners see
Your best work comes first, then your clients' reviews, then who you are, the work you do and the places you cover. At the bottom, they can ask you for a quote.
When someone enquires
Their enquiry is emailed to you and kept under Enquiries. Reply by email, or turn it into a project in one click. The project starts with everything they told you. See "How to handle enquiries".

Why can't I click Next?
Each step needs something before you can go on. Your business needs your business name. How people reach you needs a proper email address under Email enquiries to, and a proper one under Email on your page if you fill it in. While your introduction is being written, wait for it to finish.
Why weren't my words written up by AI?
If the writing doesn't work, Buildscout says Couldn't write it up just now and puts your answers in instead. Try again, or tidy them yourself.
