Everyone in your business can have their own Buildscout login, and the trades you bring in for a job can see just the projects you put them on. You invite both from the members page.
Invite a team member
Click your initial at the top right, choose Settings, then click Members.
Click Invite member.
Choose A team member and click Continue.
Type their Email address.
Pick a Role: Member or Admin.
Click Send invitation.
They get an email with a link to join the team, which expires in 7 days. Until they accept, they're listed under Pending invites.
Members get on with the work. Admins can also invite people, change roles and remove people.
Add a subcontractor
A subcontractor, like your electrician or roofer, only sees the projects you put them on and doesn't get access to the team.
On Members, click Invite member.
Choose A subcontractor and click Continue.
Fill in their Full name, their trade and how to reach them.
Under Projects, click Choose projects and pick the projects to put them on.
Click Add subcontractor.
We invite them to each project you picked. Someone you put on no projects is saved to your list but isn't told anything until you add them to a project, here with Add to project or from the project itself.
Resend or cancel an invite
Under Pending invites:
Resend emails them a fresh link, and the 7 days start again. Use it if the email went astray, or the invite has expired.
Cancel stops the link working straight away.
Change someone's role or remove them
Change a role: pick Member or Admin in the box next to their name.
Remove someone: click the cross next to their name (Remove from team), then Remove member. They lose access to the team straight away. Everything they created stays with the team.
Why can't I invite a team member?
Only an admin can invite someone to the team. A member can still add subcontractors, as long as they can edit projects.
Why can't I change my own role or remove myself?
Nobody can change their own role or remove themselves. Ask another admin to do it.
Why does it say the email is already on another account?
"This email already belongs to another Buildscout account." Each email address can only belong to one company's billing account. "That email is already a member of this team." means they're on your team already.
How many people can I invite?
Every plan has unlimited subcontractors, and all but Enterprise have unlimited team members. Enterprise is priced by the user. For admins who are also billing members, the members page shows how many of the plan's users are taken or invited, with Add users to add more. When they're all taken, sending an invite says so: "Your plan is for 5 users, and every one is taken or invited. Cancel an invitation, or add users to your plan." Cancelling a pending invite frees its place.
