How to change a design with AI

Ask the AI to change a letter it designed, keep every version, and choose which one your campaigns send.

A letter the AI designed can be changed just by asking. Each change is made as a new version, so nothing you had before is lost, and you choose which version your letters use.

Ask for a change

  1. Click Letter campaigns in the sidebar, then Letter templates.

  2. Click the letter to open it.

  3. Click Edit with AI.

  4. Type what you'd like changed, such as "the logo isn't big enough", or pick one of the ideas under Or try one of these, like Make the logo bigger or Try a different layout.

  5. Click Make the change, or press Enter.

The change is made in the background as a new version, at the top of the list on the left. The others are all kept. While it's being made, the letter says what the AI is doing and roughly how long is left. When it's ready, what changed is written on the left under What changed in, followed by the version's name.

To give the AI more pictures to work with, click Images the AI can use inside the Edit with AI box, then Upload logo or Add photos.

Versions

Every version is listed on the left under Versions, newest at the top. The first three designs are Design A, Design B and Design C. Changes made from a design are numbered on from it: A2, A3 and so on.

  • Open a version: click it. Viewing shows which one is open.

  • Make a copy to change by hand: click the New version button at the top of the list. The copy opens, and the version you copied stays as it was.

  • Fold the list: click the panel button next to it to show just the names.

Undo your hand edits

If you've changed a version by hand and don't like how it's turned out, click Reset to the AI's design, then Reset. Your hand edits to that version are undone. You'll also find Reset to AI design under the version in the list.

Choose the version a campaign sends

When a letter is already going out in a campaign, the green Current tag shows the version your letters use. Opening another version doesn't change that.

  1. Open the version you want to send.

  2. A bar over the letter says You're viewing that version, and which one your letters use until you publish this one. Click Back to the current version if you change your mind.

  3. Click Publish followed by the version's name, at the bottom right.

  4. Confirm with Publish.

From then on, the campaign sends the new version. Letters already sent don't change.

Why is Edit with AI greyed out?

The open version is still being made, or it couldn't be made. Wait for it to finish, or pick another version on the left. If a version says Didn't work, open it and click Try again or Retry.

Why does it say "This makes a new version from…, not the latest"?

You've opened an older version. A change is always made from the version you have open. Click Go to latest to build on the newest one instead.

Why haven't my changes reached my campaign?

A letter that a live campaign sends only changes when you publish it. Until then, the campaign keeps sending the version marked Current. Open the version you want and click Publish.

Why can't I click Done or go back?

While the AI is reworking the open version, the letter is covered so your own edits can't clash with it, and Done and Back wait until it's finished.
