How to add billing members

Let someone else, such as your bookkeeper, see your invoices and card and change your plan.

Billing members are the people who look after your billing. Only they can see your invoices and card, and change the plan, whatever their role in your teams. They don't need to work in Buildscout: your bookkeeper can be one.

Invite a billing member

  1. In Settings → Plan and payment, click Billing members in the side menu.

  2. Click Invite.

  3. Under From your teams, click Invite next to someone on your team. Or type the email of someone outside it under Or by email and click Invite.

  4. Click Done.

We email them a link. Until they accept, they're listed with Invited: click Resend to email them a new link, or Cancel to stop the link working.

Accept a billing invite

  1. Open the email, called "… invited you to manage …'s billing on Buildscout", and click Accept invitation.

  2. On the page that opens, click Accept invitation.

You don't need a Buildscout account yet: you can make one as you accept. If the email already has an account, you're asked to sign in to it first.

Hand over or leave

  • Make owner: the owner can make another billing member the owner. The old owner stays a billing member.

  • Remove: takes someone off the billing members.

  • Leave: takes yourself off.

Why can't the owner leave?

Every billing account has exactly one owner, and they can't leave or be removed. If you're handing the business over, click Make owner next to the new owner first, and then you can leave.

Why does it say "Only this account's billing members can see its billing"?

You opened a billing account you aren't a billing member of. Ask one of its billing members to add you.

Why has the billing invitation expired?

Billing invitations are valid for 7 days. Ask whoever invited you to send you a new one. "This invitation link isn't valid" means it was cancelled, accepted already or replaced by a newer one.
